Course on Swallows, Martins & Swifts at the Mountain Zebra National Park

February 2013:

This was the third weekend course that I have facilitated at the Mountain Zebra National Park near Cradock in the Eastern Cape. The feedback from the 34 participants was fantastic. They enjoyed the course and the beautiful park. My thanks to the SANParks Honorary Rangers for organising this course. Next year’s course has already been decided on - waders! Please see the details on the Calender.

Comments:

Course on LBJs in Bloemfontein – BirdLife Free State

May 2013:

My thanks to Louise Coetzee and team of BirdLife Free State for organising this course. The Little Brown Jobs are a difficult group of birds but participants now have a better understanding of how to identify them by using my guide booklets - especially compiled for this course.

Comments:
I have attended previous LBJ courses, but this was the clearest and best
Sandra Bishop

Most informative LBJ course I have ever attended!
J Lieffrig

A wonderful opportunity. For the first time I can make sense of the LBJs.

Course for Intermediate Birders

September 2014 English course / Oktober 2014 Afrikaanse kursus

BirdLife Northern Gauteng
These courses, facilitated by BirdLife Northern Gauteng, were attended by almost one hundred enthusiastic birders. I discussed a number of bird groups which most birders struggle with: the coucals, the firefinches, the chats, the bush-shrikes, the barred hawks and others. In addition, I also gave some hints on how to bird more effectively, while Ernst Retief discussed BirdLife’s conservation and monitoring projects. Happy birding!

Comments:
