20 – 22 February 2015: Wader Course – Mountain Zebra National Park

SANParks Honorary Rangers

A weekend course in a beautiful national park: Mountain Zebra National Park, Cradock, Eastern Cape. The course will include both theoretical lectures and practical outings in the Park. Waders of both inland waters and the coast will be discussed. These include, among others, sandpipers, stints, snipe, whimbrels, phalarope, curlews, plovers, lapwings, thick-knees, avocets and stilts. Some are well-known, but many species, especially the sandpiper group and the smaller plovers, present an identification challenge.

Please contact Dr Willem Olivier (083 702 5218 or wjolivier@mymtnmail.co.za) of the SANParks Honorary Rangers for further detail.
