Extremely useful and practical, with colour photos of all the birds, maps showing in which parts of Southern Africa they can be found, info on mating habits, living habits and social habits. Most importantly, it is small and compact, thus easy to carry around with you when you are walking, etc. Buy it!

I can't believe that one could expect a 'pocket guide' that has over 400 birds included and has multiple photos of these species. I took this book through South Africa and Botswana and I am happy to recommend it to all. With the camera equipment that I carry it is essential that I keep books to a minimum. The pocket guide was quick, light and had the vast majority of birds I searched for. Great little book!
