The following changes will be implemented:

• A larger size: 245 x 170 mm - the same as my Raptor Guide of Southern Africa.

• Updated distribution maps.

The new edition will retain the following popular features:

• The 12 logical, colour-coded groups.
• A user-friendly system of colour codes and cross-references.
• Excellent colour photographs to illustrate differences between male, female, juvenile, breeding plumages and other variations.
• Symbols to depict the birds’ preferred habitat, food, sociability and nest type.
• Comprehensive text to highlight important information

Comments on the current edition:

www.surfbirds.com:
I bought the Bird Guide of Southern Africa, a photo guide, which is an excellent book, especially for the more subtle groups and for its updates on species' splits and up to date distribution maps.
